Meet Patricia Johnson, BA, LMT, CPT

After 25 years in the high-pressure, corporate world of business and finance, Patricia Johnson wanted something new.

She’d always had an interest in natural health. And as she looked around her world, she became increasingly concerned by the impact of this stressful lifestyle on her health – as well as on the health of her friends, family and colleagues.

To help herself relax, Patricia decided to earn a license in massage therapy through a year-long program at Brenneke Massage School in Seattle in 1999.

This program – and further education in body work – increased her desire to pursue a lifestyle more beneficial to herself and others. This awareness eventually led Patricia to change her career so she could work full time helping others reduce stress in their lives.

For several years, she owned the Ventura Healing Arts Center, which combined the services of several holistic practitioners and practices in one location.

Patricia now owns and operates Patricia Johnson Bodyworks, which provides comprehensive massage, polarity therapy and fitness training services.

She has worked several years as a massage therapist for Aegis Senior Living in Ventura – and she specializes in senior fitness needs.

Patricia is certified in Personal Fitness training through Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), the world’s largest fitness educator.

Always looking for new ways to help patients, she has continued her education with instruction in Polarity Therapy, Reflexology, Lymphatic Drainage massage, Aromatherapy and St. John Neuromuscular Therapy for lower back.

Patricia is currently training for her Pilates certification through Body Arts and Science Institute.

Self-awareness is the first step to a healthy body. Many of us focus on taking care of everyone else and we lose the connection with our body that is so vital to staying well.

Massage and polarity therapy bring us to a deep relaxed state so we can identify parts of our bodies where we’ve become disconnected. Fitness training maximizes our well-being by making us aware of tight or weak parts of our bodies – and then allows us to stretch and strengthen these areas specifically.

At the end of the day, my goal is to help people stay mindful of what their bodies need to stay healthy.”
